Who are our canoe trips suitable for?

Our guided school canoe trips are suitable for primary and secondary school pupils and we recommend the shorter, 5 mile canoe trip for younger pupils. Pupils need to be able to swim 25 metres to go on this trip, for safety reasons. For less confident pupils we recommend our kayak trips on the canal in Kinver.

Canoe & Train routes

The Severn Valley Railway runs on Thursdays and Fridays during the week, so the steam train option is available on these days. We will provide you with your tickets on the day. The train stations are within walking distance of the river.

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

The min group size is 6 paying people and the maximum group size is 60.

What happens in bad weather?

If the weather isn't safe for the canoe trip to go ahead or the river levels are 1 metre or above on the day of the canoe trip, we will offer you a kayak session on the canal in Kinver instead and the difference in price will be refunded. Alternatively, we can arrange another date.

Are you qualified to take school groups on the river severn?

Yes we have an AALA license which means that we are qualified and safe to take school groups on the River Severn. We will provide you with risk assessments on booking along with details of our AALA license. Our staff are fully qualified and DBS checked.
